A task force of the Chittenden County Metropolitan Planning Organization (CCMPO) has recommended a new Regional Public Transportation District for Chittenden County as part of a proposal that would change the way public transportation in Vermont is funded and governed.

*VTrans Rural Transit Provider Management Study* The purpose of the study is to analyze the managerial capability and financial capacity of rural transit providers to determine whether any of these systems are at risk of failing and to identify policy changes and technical assistance that should be provided to improve managerial capability and financial capacity.	*Regional Public Transportation Initiative* The Initiative recommends expanding public transportation services in our region in order to help Vermonters age in place, provide basic mobility, alleviate commuter traffic, protect the environment, and foster economic development.
