Chittenden County MPO Announces Sidewalk Grant Funding

South Burlington, VT - The Chittenden County Metropolitan Planning Organization (CCMPO) has grant funding available for sidewalk engineering, design, and construction. Cities and towns in Chittenden County are eligible to apply to the program and up to $250,000 in federal funds will be awarded later in the spring to get the selected projects underway.

"While the CCMPO primarily focuses on transportation planning activities, these program funds go directly to building new sidewalks," said Peter Keating, CCMPO Senior Planner. According to Keating, "Our member communities have long advocated for and supported this program. We are now starting our fourth year after previously funding projects in Colchester, Essex, Williston, Hinesburg, Milton, Burlington and Shelburne."
