News Advisory:

Who: The public, and the board of the Chittenden County Metropolitan Planning Organization (CCMPO), the region’s transportation planning agency.

What: The final open house and a public hearing on its 25-year Metropolitan Transportation Plan (MTP).

When: Wednesday, October 22, 2003. The open house will run from 6- 7 p.m. followed by a public hearing and staff presentation on the MTP to begin at 7 p.m.

Where: The meeting will be held at South Burlington High School, 550 Dorset Street, South Burlington. Meetings are open to the public.

Why: The MTP is a 25-year plan that responds to the transportation needs of a growing and changing population. It identifies an expected allocation of $1.04 billion over the next 25 years. The open house and public hearing will provide an opportunity for the public to learn and comment on various aspects of the MTP, including: bicycle pedestrian improvements, maintaining existing roadways, and finishing critical roadway links.
