South Burlington, VT - The Chittenden County Metropolitan
Planning Organization will hold its annual meeting and reception
on June 18 at 5:45 p.m. at Union Station at One Main Street in
Burlington. This year marks the 20th Anniversary of the CCMPO.
Frank Bryan, a political humorist, will be the keynote speaker
on “You Can’t Get There From Here: Thoughts on Transportation
in Vermont.” Refreshments will be served.
The public is invited to the meeting and reception. Admission
is $10 at the door on the day of the event. Anyone interested
in attending should RSVP by June 6 to Bernie Ferenc at the CCMPO
by calling (802) 660-4071 ext. 223 or by email at bferenc@ccmpo.org.
The CCMPO was established in 1982 under federal law. It is authorized
to help regional decision-makers and constituents plan, prioritize,
and coordinate the use of federal funds for transportation projects,
as well as address on-going transportation-related policy issues.
Chittenden County is the only densely populated area in Vermont
that meets the definition of a metropolitan area with a population
greater than 50,000 people.
